Alliance for Music and Art
is the 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization responsible for providing concert events at Jupiter Studios and elsewhere in the Downtown Alliance area, free music lessons for disadvantaged youth, and art exhibits at Jupiter Studios.
What the Alliance for Music and Art provides
Before deciding to give to our organization, you probably want know what specifically we do and how we are affecting the lives of those we serve. We organize three main programs under the auspices of the non-profit organization, Alliance for Music and Art.
1. School of Rock: an educational outlet for music that is totally unique for children ages 9-17, including those with disabilities or from impoverished backgrounds. Students attend private lessons in guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, as well as learn to play in a real Rock band.

2. Live Concerts: Every Friday and Saturday evening from 8pm to 11pm we organize, host, and provide sound reinforcement for Professional Live Music Performances at Jupiter Studios: over seventy a year!
3. Art exhibits and classes: we host and display art from area artists as well classes for all ages.
These activities help enrich the lives of everyone who can attend, providing an outlet for amateur and beginning artists, and a safe atmosphere to celebrate our community's creativity year-round.
Positive effects of the arts and music
The arts and music have been shown to have the following beneficial effects on students and community development:
1. Increased high school graduation rates
2. Lowered crime rates
3. Improved skills in unrelated areas of study such as Math and Reading.
4. Developed brain activity linking visual, auditory, and motor skills.
5. Encouraged people to move to and stay in the areas where arts take place.
Dollars Well Spent:
Reaching this goal
The chart you see above is an estimation of our goal of raising $100,000 annually to create our programming. If these numbers were realized, we would no longer depend solely on volunteers to run the door, operate the concessions, book our shows, do the sound for events, and to perform; over one hundred disadvantaged youth from Northeast Ohio could take part in the School of Rock; and we could pay the artists who perform for us now, simply out of the kindness of their hearts, what they deserve for their diligence in advancing their craft, and bringing light to our lives. And concerts would be free for everyone! Currently, we are operating on grants and donations from some of the poorest sectors of our city, and we have raised close to $25,000. We are already inspiring and uplifting downtown Alliance. Imagine what we can do with your help!
Satisfaction Seen
But don't just take our word for it. Come to our fantastic events and see for yourself! Here's a large group who have already seen the benefits of our programs. A great turnout to our School of Rock Recital August 20, 2009:
